Marine VHF/DSC radio is the best way of summoning help. You can contact the coastguard up to 50 miles off-shore and talk to other yachts 15 to 20 miles away on the open sea. Following this 1 day course you will be a competent radio operator and know the correct procedures for making distress, urgency and safety calls by means of marine VHF/ DSC radio, and much more. During instruction we will be using our own internal connected Icom radio system and Lightmaster software. Duration:

To qualify for the SRC certificate you will have to complete a short assessment test at the end of the course. Whats included:
What you need to bring: One passport size photograph for inclusion in the certificate. Something for lunch (because this is a full course, lunch breaks cannot exceed 30 mins). Cost:
(The certificate is issued in the UK by the RYA/MCA and then posted back to you. The fee for the issue etc is equivalent to £25 Sterling, this is included in the total course cost). Full details of each course syllabus can be found in the RYA syllabus and logbook G15. This book can be purchased at a discounted price through our sea school.
